Use a soft toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste at least twice daily and after meals whenever possible. Brush carefully above and below the wire and around every bracket.
Often, yes. Interdental brushes help remove food around brackets and under wires, while orthodontic floss or a floss threader can be used as instructed.
Avoid very hard or sticky foods that may loosen brackets or bend wires. Cut crunchy foods into small pieces rather than biting directly with the front teeth.
Cover the irritating area temporarily with orthodontic wax and contact the clinic. Do not pull or cut the wire yourself.
Mild pressure or soreness may occur for a few days after some visits. Choose softer foods and contact the clinic if pain is severe or unusually persistent.
Follow your prescribed plan. Many plans require about 20–22 hours of wear each day, removing aligners only for eating, drinking, and cleaning.
Remove aligners for food and drinks other than water to reduce staining and damage. Clean your teeth or rinse well before reinserting them.
Change trays only according to the schedule set by your orthodontist. Do not accelerate the sequence on your own.
Rinse them with cool or lukewarm water and clean gently using a soft dedicated brush. Avoid hot water and abrasive toothpaste.
Contact the clinic before moving to another tray. You may be advised to wear the previous or next tray temporarily depending on fit and treatment stage.
